Instrument Cluster for 1955-1959 GMC Chevy Pickup
This instrument cluster is designed to replace the original dashboard. It features an electronic speedometer with total and trip odometers, tachometer, fuel level indicator, engine temperature gauge, voltage indicator, electronic oil pressure (manometer) with sensor, and warning lights.
The translucent backlighting offers seven selectable colors, including a DIMMER function to adjust brightness. The needles are illuminated in red.
Installation is easy: simply remove the old dashboard from the original frame (frame not included), and insert the new panel.
Key Features:
SPEEDOMETER
- Fully configurable to work with any transmission ratio and tire diameter. Simply install a speed sensor (not included).
- The speed sensor must output a square wave signal, which is common in Hall-effect sensors, typically with 3 wires.
- For sensors that output a sine wave signal, typically inductive sensors with 2 wires, the Inductive Sensor Conditioner (CSI-1) is required to convert the sine wave signal to a square wave.
- The total odometer can be configured to a starting mileage value, useful for preserving the vehicle’s original mileage.
- The trip odometer can be reset at any time via the keypad.
Once configured, the speed reading is accurate and reliable.
TACHOMETER
- Compatible with 4, 6, and 8-cylinder engines. Works with points-based ignition systems, electronic ignition, programmable fuel injection systems, and spark multiplier modules (MSD, Mallory, and similar) that have a tach output.
- For diesel engines, the tachometer signal can be obtained from the W terminal on the alternator. If necessary, the Inductive Sensor Conditioner (CSI-1) can be used to convert this signal.
OIL PRESSURE INDICATOR (MANOMETER)
- Electronic gauge with a pressure sensor that mounts directly to the engine, eliminating the need for fluid-filled hoses.
- The sensor is highly durable and can withstand 2X its operating pressure without damage.
- The oil pressure sensor and its wiring harness are included with the panel.
ENGINE TEMPERATURE INDICATOR
- Electronic gauge that works with a modern two-wire temperature sensor (model MTE4053 / ODG 052.0.0.0.2), ensuring precise readings.
- The temperature sensor and its wiring harness are included with the panel.
FUEL LEVEL INDICATOR
- Programmable for any float and tank configuration. Programming is straightforward and can be done in two ways: either by entering the resistance values for empty, half-full, and full tank levels, or by filling the tank and calibrating the float sensor accordingly. In addition to this, you can choose from one of four pre-programmed float options.
BATTERY VOLTAGE INDICATOR
- Monitors the alternator's operation by tracking the battery voltage.
WARNING LIGHTS
- Includes six indicators covering the most important vehicle signals.
Technical Specifications:
- Operating Voltage: 12 VDC
- Speed Range: 0 to 180 km/h
- RPM Range: 0 to 6,000 RPM
- Engine Temperature Range: 40°C to 120°C
- Fuel Level Indicator: Includes four pre-programmed floats and an adjustable float option
- Oil Pressure Manometer Range: 0 to 8 BAR
- Programmable for Any Transmission Ratio (requires speed sensor)
- Warning Lights: Six indicators
- Easy Configuration: Set parameters via the included display and keypad
Requirements:
- Speedometer: Requires a square wave speed sensor or the use of the Inductive Sensor Conditioner (CSI-1) in combination with a sine wave sensor.
- Fuel Level Indicator: Requires a float/sensor with a maximum resistance of 1K Ohms.
Note: The Inductive Sensor Conditioner (CSI-1) is not included with the panel and must be purchased separately if needed.
Warranty: 12 months against manufacturing defects.
